Last night went well for a household with a new pup. Zepellin started coming around about the time we were ready for bed so we stayed up and played awhile. I put him in his kennel and as soon as I went into my room he started whining/howling. I moved to the sofa next to his kennel and he settled right down for the whole night. My cat was pissed though. She wanted me in my room. She started snapping her paws on Lucy's door and woke Lucy up twice. She somehow found the tiniest spot next to me on the sofa and calmed down around 5 this morning. Around 6:30 Zep started barking which was somehow shocking to me as in my sleep I temporarily forgot there was a dog here. He's been potty outside and had his antibiotics. He still hasn't had anything to drink. He has discovered a love for his giraffe toy.

Oh, poor little guy. I can't wait for the day when his eyes aren't quite so scared. And woman, you rock. No way would I have slept on the sofa. :)
I’m sooooo glad he like the giraffe!!! I told you he HAD to like it……This little giraffe was my welcome home present to Zep. I wanted to introduce him to Morgan’s ‘aminal’!!! Love you Zep….can’t wait to see you!!!
He's so stinkin' adorable. I keep coming back to check for updates! The day we got Roscoe (and for several weeks afterwards) we slept on the floor right next to his crate. The things we do for our pets!
I love your dog.
You are brave starting on a weeknight. However, I put the kennel next to my bed so if the puppy would cry, then I would lean over and stick my fingers in so she knew I was there. Good luck and he is cute!
Our dog started in the kennel in another room, spent the next night in the kennel in our room, and now sleeps between us on the bed (and often under the covers) -- don't give an inch!
Good luck!
