2009

2009 started early, so there goes Lucy's New Year's Resolution she totally failed RIGHT AWAY, like 7 hours into the new year. I walked, drank water and thought about quilting so so far I am batting 100%.

We started out sorta pissy as we prepared to head out the door and back to the zoo. I was so ready to lay on the floor like our friend Morgan and writhe around screaming and flailing but I mostly held it together and only threatened to go to the zoo by myself once. Lucy, for her part also didn't flail and wail but she did declare for the millionth time that I am ABSOLUTELY NOT her BEST FRIEND and and totally catching me off guard she threw in that she is NOT IMPRESSED with me this morning. Sheesh, all of that over a simple request that she pick up the laundry that she dumped all over the floor after I asked her to leave it alone.

Once we got to the zoo we did pretty well. Lucy has her feet wet so to speak so we have a zoo pattern that mostly works well for us. We threw in two things that we haven't done. We bought noodles to eat as I sensed a melt-down in the works (totally helped) and we went to the bird show. Between the birds and the nice man sitting next to us Lucille was completely captivated.

A bonus to all the walking and running around was the nice 45 minute nap Lucy took while I ran around picking up the house and doing laundry, playing this game that I do sometime to inspire me to clean good and clean fast. The game goes like this: I get a phone call from (the person or place changes every game, today it was someone from Oprah wanting to do a surprise interview about single mom adoptions) and they want to know if they could come over in one hour to scout the place. So with a camera's eye in mind I scurry around cleaning, picking up, and brushing my hair, teeth etc. Yeah, I just wrote about my "cleaning game" on the internet. I figure if Lucy has to live with her publicized childhood I can put myself out there a bit too.

Happy new year ...

WOW! 100%?? I was 0 for the first day of the year. Drank no water, did no exercise of any kind (unless sleeping on the couch is going to be added as a new Olympic sport), and ate meat. I then proceeded to get ill and "lost" the meat, so does that mean that I'm still a veg for 2009 thus far?

No Way!

Habis new thing is also...

Mommy is not my best friend ANY MORE....

That or he is trying to put me in time out.

His sassiness has come out in full effect over the past three months...I miss my sweet little child!!!!

I think little miss Lucy and little Mr. Habi man could seriously rival in the cute/handful department!

The cleaning game LOVE it! Me? I tell myself things like I have 1/2 an hour to do a room and if I fail I don't get to do something! LOL 100% for you? Hmm... maybe 10% for me. sigh.

I'm familiar with that cleaning game myself... glad to know I'm not the only player.

LOL! I love the cleaning game. That is hilarious and a really good idea.

Lucy is too funny with the things she comes up with. I love it!

Oh, and I forgot to comment on her singing debut post, but that was amazing. Makenna watched it with me and asked if it was her. She LOVES that same song and sings it all of the time. She was totally jealous of Lucy's guitar and she was completely captivated by her. Lucy's little voice was SO sweet, and the end of the song was so huge for her little body. Great catch on video!
