Happy Halloween
Lucy and I celebrated our third halloween together. It's so amazing to say 3rd. Two years ago yesterday we landed in Minnesota after hours and hours of flights from Ethiopia. Lucy was dressed as a flower. We had a little welcoming party and some trick-or-treaters and then we slept until 2 a.m. when we woke up for the day. Last year Lucy was a monkey and we went trick-or-treating for the first time in our friends neighborhood. This year we continued the tradition of escaping the hood for some tricks or treats in St. Paul. We walked around with Isaac and Nathan. Isaac was by far the most excited, a poster child for the effects of sugar on the young. I could not capture him on film. Lucy caught on to what was happening and by the third house could easily spot the candy of her choice (suckers) in a bowl full of chocolate (last year I picked out my favorites).

Lucy--you make the cutest chicken ever!
Hi there - what an adorable little chicken you have! Lucy is just gorgeous..my husband and I are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia as well, and we love the name Lucy, have for quite some time. Just wanted to say I'm happy to have found your blog, it's so much fun to read. :)
Have you explained to Lucy about the Candy Tax? She had to give all the Kit Kats to her Auntie Jen.
