New Year's Resolution

so after today's lunch time fiasco I have made a resolution.  It's relatively simple.  I shall spend 2010 making breakfast and dinner with mostly nutrition in mind (as opposed to whatever will cause the least amount of friction with Lucy).  If she doesn't eat, so be it.  If she fusses and complains she can leave the table and go to her room until she's ready to come back with a better attitude.  I'll be nice about it and ease into the new stuff.  I am tired of the fussing, tired of the complaining and tired of the increasingly limited amounts of food she'll eat without a fight.  Done.

Here are some photos from today:

PS- Last week, your son-in-law said, in regard to some of my homecookin', "That's gross!" I lost it on him.

This whole week he has been very complementary. Even, "Mom, you do a good job of peeling oranges." because, I think, he was searching for a compliment to give.

Would you like me to go nutto on L?

I meant complimentary.

wait!! Where does Hamburger Helper fall on the spectrum? How about H.H. with an appetizer of gummy vitamins and a dessert of strawberries and ice cream?

Will your home be BYOHH in the future? Or do we just eat the HH for lunch?

Clearly, my excessive commenting may be indicative of my unwillingness to return the basement for more cleaning.

Good job putting your foot down...sometimes that's all you can do and hope that she'll make a different decision next time. btw- LOVE HH...my dietitian recommended it AS long as I throw in some frozen veggies in there

Add some spinach to the recipe and you meet your resolution AND she gets to cook for YOU!

good for you with the food. there are times my kids are pissed at me that they don't like what i made... but they know that's all there is. i confess, sometimes all they eat for dinner is applesauce, but i won't be a short order cook for them.

Yep! Good for you Stacy--setting boundaries and guidelines with breakfast and dinner isn't going to kill Miss Lucy. Keep us updated on the battles until you've won the war kiddo!

PS Happy New Year 2010!
